From South Wales - take the A484 from Carmarthen towards Cardigan. Bear left on B4333 as you leave village of Cynwyl Elfed, which re-joins A484 in Newcastle Emlyn. Turn left at that T-junction onto A484 again and follow the Teifi River valley about 6 miles from Newcastle Emlyn until your enter the village of Llechryd.
With the river on your left, you will see the old stone bridge, and take that left over the bridge. It is signposted for Cilgerran Castle and Boncath.
Follow that road mostly uphill for about one mile, and turn to your left at the crossroads. There is are signs for Carreg Wen and Cilfowyr Chapel. The entrance is the first turning to the left, about 250 yards from the turn.

From North Wales - From Aberystwyth, take A487 to Cardigan, and at the Cardigan roundabout take first exit onto the A484 towards Newcastle Emlyn. Proceed through the village of Llechryd, and after passing the petrol station you will go down a short steep hill. Directly at the bottom of that hill, turn right over the old stone bridge. It is signposted for Cilgerran Castle and Boncath.

From Mid Wales - From Lampeter take A475 to Newcastle Emlyn. Go through town center and join A484 towards Cardigan. Follow the Teifi River valley about 6 miles from Newcastle Emlyn until your enter the village of Llechryd.

From Pembrokeshire - If you come towards Cardigan on the A487 from Fishguard, about a mile past Eglwyswrw is a turning to the right signposted for Cilgerran. There are two turnings at that same junction, so you basically go straight as the sharp right goes to Crymych and the main road curves off to the left. Cross over the A478 in Rhoshill, and turn right at the T-junction which is the High Street in Cilgerran. Follow that road without turning off for 2 miles. You will pass one turning to the left, but carry on straight, over a small bridge, and up to a crossroads where there is are signs for Carreg Wen and Cilfowyr Chapel. Go straight across there, and the entrance is the first turning to the left, about 250 yards from the turn.

   - If you come on the A478 from Narberth, after leaving Blaenffos, there is a turning to the right into Boncath. Go straight through the village on the B4332 towards Cenarth. About a half mile after leaving the village, there is a small lane to the left, signposted for Llechryd. Follow that road for 2 miles, and turn to your right at the crossroads. There is a single white house on the right, and there are signs for Carreg Wen and Cilfowyr Chapel. The entrance is the first turning to the left, about 250 yards from the turn.
